Gruev’s roaming from village to village, and from one city to another, resulted in a systematic revolutionary organization throughout the Province of Macedonia and the Vilayet of Adrianople.
Gruev was again appointed to the teaching staff now in the city of Monastir, and as such, he also assumed the management of the revolutionary movement in the Vilayet of Monastir, while the active persons at the Committee in Salonica were Dr.Christo Tatarchev, Pere Toshev, and Christo Matov.
Gruev, being suspected as a major factor in fostering this movement, was, as a consequence, arrested on August 6, 1900.

Gruev did not agree with the Central Committee’s decision, mainly because of the MRO’s lack of preparedness, and as he believed it was too late to oppose or to follow any other method, he agreed to the decision of the Central Committee.

Dame put faith in the nation, that one day thay will really be free and that day was caming soon,but Dame Gruev had a dream that the revolution for freedom was going as planned but would only last for a short period of time.
Dame gruev heard what happened and was angry he got drunk and started beating with his fists on the wall in that moment Dame could kill any muslim if he saw one.

Damyan Yovanov Gruev (Macedonian: Дамјан Јованов Груев; Bulgarian: Дамян Йованов Груев) - (January 19, 1871, Smilevo, present day Republic of Macedonia - December 10, 1906, near Petlec peak, present day Republic of Macedonia) was a 19th-20th century Bulgarian revolutionary.
Gruev’s tirelessly travelled throughout Macedonia and the Vilayet of Adrianople and systematically established and organized committees in villages and cities.
Although he was away from Macedonia and Thrace itself, Gruev managed to keep himself informed as to the development and affairs of the IMARO.

VMRO was preceded by a wide national unification movement led by a group of young Macedonian intellectuals writing for the periodical Loza (Vine) in 1892, later called Lozari.
Distinguished members of this group included Petar Pop Arsov, Dame Gruev, Krste P. Misirkov and Grigor Hadzhitashkovich; Goce Delchev and Gjorche Petrov likely belonged to this movement as well.
