After the release of the album, the Damn Yankees went on a year and a half world tour.

The band is presumably named for the musical of the same name.
The album included the hit singles “Comin’ of Age,” the self-titled “Damn Yankees” and the chart-topping rock ballad “High Enough.” High Enough happened to be the number 1 best selling single in Ted Nugent's career.

The plot is based on a middle-aged fan of the Washington Senators baseball club who sells his soul to the Devil to enable the Senators to win the American League pennant.

According to the report, the Yankees may have undervalued their television rights (they charge the YES network $60 million a year to broadcast Yankee games.) If it is found that they did undervalue the rights, they will have to pay to make up the difference.
In other news, the Yankees have decided to not let Jorge Posada to play in the Baseball World Classic because they think the 34 year old catcher is not durable enough to do it (which may be evident by his.262 batting average, and his.782 OPS, which was over 100 points lower than the previous year).

Los Angeles, California was where Damn Yankees was put together by Styx's Tommy Shaw (guitar/vocals), the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent (guitar/vocals), Night Ranger's Jack Blades (bass/vocals) and drummer Michael Cartellone.
In 1993 Damn Yankees realized that they were commercially unviable in a changing musical state and disbanded, with members returning to their previous careers.
However the band was horrified with the final mix of the album and it remains unreleased to this very day.

This is a band of rock legends, especially Ted Nugent, who has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid in grade school in the 70's.
My initial interest in this band was, of course, that Ted Nugent was their guitarist.

In the '70s we used to be a killer rock band, but as soon as we had a hit with 'Babe' and the ballads took all the focus then that wa really the end.
It was actually the day we were due to begin recording the Damn Yankees album that Dennis finally called to say everything was ready but I just had to turn him down.

Damn Yankees is a peculiar, dated musical which probably was a lot better on stage than in movie version, however there are some cute numbers and engaging performances by wily Ray Walston and a strapping, earnest Tab Hunter.

I can name a lot of Night Ranger and even the Damn yankees where there was maybe the fifth song on side two that we let squeak by.
That and the fact there were great tunes from Night Ranger (the band that Jack was with) and Styx tunes and a couple of Damn Yankees things.

You can just hear Damn Yankees having a blast recording this disc, and the songs and spirit of the album reflect that.
While I'm a huge Styx fan and Night Ranger was a great band too, THIS BAND was the SH*T. These records blow away their former bands.

I thought that Slaughter was one of the better 3rd generation (1988-1991) metal bands that had come out.........Damn Yankess was just plain cheesy b/c Nugent & Shaw were so much better in their prime that that lame assed fake metal supergroup band...........kind of like Bad English with John Waite--just awful!
