 Chicagoist: Chicago Smart-Ass Makes Good
Chicago’s very own Dan Bakkedahl, formerly of Second City and Wrigleyville's IO Theater, has gone to the Big Apple to be the Daily Show’s newest correspondent.
Before Dan left Chicago, his friends threw him a roast at IO, and it looks like his friends are as inappropriate as we are after a few tequila shooters, so they’re all invited to the next Chicagoist happy hour.
Dan is newly sober, and even that fact was not out-of-bounds for the roast.

The Daily Show's Dan Bakkedahl reported last night on the crisis gripping Congressional-league softball in D.C. this season after the Republican players split off into their own league in response to more inclusive regulations proposed by Democrats.
Bakkedahl subsequently noted that there was no "i" in team, but there were two "i"s in "dickishness."
You could tell that Dan was originally going to spotlight the silliness of the whole thing, but when the Republican staff member stormed out of the interview and made such a big deal of the whole thing, they just decided to poke fun at them for being so "dickish" about the situation.

Bakkedahl, however, was thwarted in his attempt to talk to the Republican players, who refused to go on the record, and, according to Bakkedahl, Comedy Central wouldn't allow any footage of Republican team members to be aired.
It is truly sad that the only group of correspondents who openly and directly question these Rethuglicans--about trivial and non-trivial subjects--are comedians on Comedy Central's joke newscasts.
