Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In was a United States comedy television show broadcast from January 22, 1968 through 1973 over the NBC network.
Hosted by the comedy team of Dan Rowan and Dick Martin (Rowan played the exasperated straight man, Martin the horny, dumb guy), the show was characterized by a rapid-fire series of gags and sketches; many of them carried sexual innuendo, others were politically charged, and most were just silly.
At the end of every show, Dan Rowan turned to his co-host and said, "It's time to say good-night, Dick," to which Martin replied, "Good-night, Dick" (reprising a bit from the old George Burns and Gracie Allen radio show).

 dOc DVD Review: Best of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In 2 (1969-1971) - Printable
Debuting in 1968, and running until 1973, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In stands as one of the more truly innovative variety shows that television has ever unleashed, unveiled during a time of great political and societal upheaval in this country.
Developed by George Schlatter, Laugh-In starred the relatively unknown (to television audiences, at least) comedy team of Dan Rowan and Dick Martin, and an even larger stable of as-yet-unknowns that would become quickly famous in their own right, names like Goldie Hawn, Arte Johnson, and Lily Tomlin.
All things being equal, Martin was the without a doubt the lynch pin of the duo, and try as he might, Dan Rowan could just never really match him comedically, but they worked so well together, like two halves of the same whole.
