I was just over on Mason Jenning's site and he has a new album coming out with a a specific release date set and he hasn't been with his record label for that long.
The fact is that most of us are fans of Dan Wilson the musician, not Dan the producer, political commentator, poetry critic, et cetera.
Dan has a beautiful voice and he writes intelligent lyrics and fun music.

Semisonic, was formed in 1992 with guitarist singer/songwriter Dan Wilson and bassist John Munson, both formerly of Trip Shakespeare.
Dan and John were very supportive all through the writing process.
I think Dan and John's former band, Trip Shakespeare, was viewed as a kind of boutique band (though they were on a major label, AandM Records).

The arrangement between the two members remains intact: Justin writes the songs and Dan handles the business affairs, which he claims to enjoy - although he admits to becoming frustrated at times "with...the hoops we have had to jump through, but that is all a part of it.
Dan regularly listens to Tom Petty, U2, Foo Fighters, Duncan Sheik, Jonatha Brooke and Semisonic - with whom Epic Hero has of course worked - and he claims that he is "still waiting to have a dinner with Bono, the Edge and Dave Grohl.
