Dana Rosemary Scallon, formerly Dana (born August 30, 1951), is a successful former singer turned Irish politician.
Scallon was born Rosemary Brown in Derry, Northern Ireland and attended Thornhill College in Derry.
Scallon lost her seat in the elections to the European Parliament in June 2004, although her share of the vote on that occasion (13.5%) was somewhat higher than opinion polls had indicated in advance of the election.

Former MEP Ms Dana Rosemary Scallon has made contact with four county councils to determine whether they would support her nomination in a presidential election.
It is understood that the former Fine Gael TD, Cllr Madeleine Taylor Quinn, told Ms Scallon yesterday that the party's councillors on Clare County Council would not vote en masse to support her nomination.
While Ms Scallon has complained that some local authorities might have to schedule emergency meetings to consider her nominations, the regular monthly meetings of the other three councils take place before nominations close on October 1st.

Members of Offaly and North Tipperary county councils have tonight unanimously rejected a request by former MEP, Dana Rosemary Scallon, for a nomination to contest the presidential election.
Philo O'Kelly, the Longford Fine Gael Councillor who proposed Dana for the presidency in 1997, has accused her party of disgraceful behaviour by blocking the former MEP's efforts to seek a nomination today.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio, Ms Scallon said if her attempts to get a nomination for the Presidency are rejected today, it will represent rejection not by councillors but by the political establishment.

Global reproductive health agency Marie Stopes International has issued a scathing response to allegations made by Connacht Ulster MEP Dana Scallon in the Irish Independent newspaper yesterday that it has received €50 million of EU fisheries funding for 'a population initiative'.
The funds Ms Scallon appears to be referring to are derived from the reallocation of the unused €125m originally earmarked by the EU for the Morocco fisheries agreement and which had nothing to do with EU homewaters fishing activities.
The money was transferred to other buget lines, including the global development fund, with the bulk going to Afghanistan.
