  History & Fame of Danforth & Broadview Ave's
Danforth Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was named after Asa Danforth, an American Contractor who was commissioned in 1799 to cut the Danforth but didn't actually build it.
The lands north of the Danforth and east of Donlands Ave, and Chester Village were later annexed to the City of Toronto in 1909.

The routing via Pinegrove Avenue is not presently operationally feasible, as the turn from northbound Birchmount Road to eastbound Pinegrove Avenue requires that buses cross into the westbound lane of Pinegrove Avenue.
New eastbound service would be provided on Danforth Avenue, between Birchmount Avenue and Kingston Road, and customers travelling to and from Variety Village would have direct, convenient service to the south side of Danforth Avenue, just outside the main entrance to Variety Village.

A week later, this tripper service was combined with a new Danforth Tripper line operating west from Luttrell Loop Two years later, on August 25, 1925, after VIP opening ceremonies the day before, the last gap was closed, and Bloor cars ran west, beneath new railway underpasses, to Jane Street.
The Bloor and Danforth shuttle streetcars themselves disappeared on May 11, 1968, when the Bloor-Danforth Subway was extended west and east to Islington and Warden Stations respectively.
