Serial A was indubitably a western, but Serial B, I don't have a clue.
I saw many episodes of Danger Island on the Banana Splits; I also saw some Dark Shadows when I was a kid, though I didn't much like it.
The first serial that I can recall was Flash Gordon and that hooked me and all my amigos.Of course you had the gamut of Westerns such as Hopalong and The Lone Ranger but I still have a feeling of nostalgia for the old Serials.

A fiction television program (movie or episode format) which is complete in itself, and was designed to be a forerunner for a television serial or/ series etc.
Usually referred to as Mini Series, these are fiction television programs where each episode is a continuation of the previous episode, usually with a "Cliff Hanger" at the end of each episode, but with a limited life, usually between two (2) to six episodes.
Where a program is made of serial episodes, but for a limited number of episodes, then following the series line, a new group of episodes, which may have little connection to the previous group of episodes.

This is what (supposedly) rehabilitated criminals will learn from watching and/or gunning for a spot on Danger Island: that there is always a loophole, a chance to manipulate the system, to amply rectify your wrongdoings and begin to feel better about yourself without a lot of effort and determination.
Maybe Western world elections could be run similarly - eliminate dedication to ideology and progressive thought, disregard track record, and simply have candidates engage in televised activities that they've already proven their capacity for: trash-talking forums, a smile-off, and maybe a firm handshake-a-thon.

(Why they didn't include the more comic "Musketeers" romp of "Yippee, Yappee and Yahooey" is a mystery.) But the best diversion here is the live-action adventure serial "Danger Island," with its hilariously far-fetched tales of lost treasure, lost professors and lost tribes in a pirate-thick Pacific archipelago.
Yet the oxygen for "Danger Island" was stuntman-turned-actor Kim Kahana as the slapsticky Chongo, who mixed gymnastic feats of strength with a Jerry Lewis-sense of hammy insanity.

MacCrae introduced sound to the serial genre with The Indians Are Coming (1930; the title was a Carl Laemmle favorite), and although vastly unpopular with the rank and file at the studio continued to defend the serial style which he now geared entirely towards the small fry.
There were many flops along the way (including such duds as Danger Island, 1931, which consisted mainly of cardboard sets and stock footage), but MacCrae was still there when Universal broke new ground with the inventive Flash Gordon chapterplays in the late 1930s.
The old man of serials did not take kindly to retirement and optioned several scripts with the thought of becoming an independent producer.
