Daniel Walter Chorzempa (born December 7, 1944) is an American organistist.
Chorzempa is known for his great virtuosity, particularly in the organ works of Franz Liszt and Julius Reubke.
Chorzempa has also composed electronic music, though this is little known.

Chorzempa studied at the University of Minnesota from 1955 - 65, then at the Staatliche Musikhochschule in Cologne before returning to Minnesota to complete his Ph.D. in 1971.
He began his career as a pianist, first in Hamburg and Cologne in 1969, then in Oxford and London in 1970 and 1971; however, it was his debut as an organist in London in 1969 that gained him critical acclaim, especially for his performances of works by Liszt and Reubke.
Since 1970, Chorzempa has been a member of the Studio für Elektronische Musik, Cologne, where he remains active as a composer of electronic music.

aniel Chorzempa began piano studies at the age of four, violin at seven, organ at twelve, followed by harpsichord and fortepiano as well.
At the age of seventeen he became instructor of music at the University of Minnesota (USA), where he also studied architecture and took a Ph.D. in musicology and Renaissance studies.
He has recently been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Neue Bach Gesellschaft, Leipzig (New Bach Society).

hese were recorded on a Dutch organ in the Old-Catholic Parish Church of St. Anne and St. Mary, Haarlem, an instrument chosen by Chorzempa as he felt it enabled performances exact requirements in registration and had tone color approaching that of the English organs of Handel's time.
Accompaniments by Concerto Amsterdam and conductor Jaap Schroder match the organ perfectly, and the sound, recorded in September 1975, is appropriately spacious and warm.
