Daniel David Moses, poet and playwright, was born at Ohsweken, Ontario in 1952 and is a registered Delaware Indian from the Six Nations lands on the Grand River in southern Ontario.
Moses was nominated for a Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama in 1991, and won the 1996 James Buller Memorial Award for Excellence in Aboriginal Theatre for The Indian Medicine Shows.
Moses is a member of the Writers’ Guild of Canada, the League of Canadian Poets, the Playwrights’ Union of Canada and the Writers' Union of Canada.

Daniel David Moses' twin one-act plays, together entitled The Indian Medicine Shows, combine the dramatic and the comic to explore themes of desire, gender, belief, and "show biz" presentation in the closing years of the American frontier.
David Smoke is a wounded victim who has barely escaped a lynching and who has an omnipresent fear of death.
The psychosexual and metaphorical suggestiveness of Moses' short plays is strengthened by generally lean writing and by expressionistic lighting devices that, of course, need to be seen in performance rather than read as textual cues, but there is a radical vision of a re-interpreted frontier.
