Daniel Dorff serves as Vice President of Publishing for Theodore Presser Company; he is a sought-after expert on music engraving and notation, having lectured at many colleges as well as Carnegie Hall, and advising the leading notation software companies.

Daniel Dorff's Serenade to Eve, After Rodin has its origin in an improvisational performance in Philadelphia's Rodin Museum in which the composer took part as a clarinetist.
Rodin's sculptures of Adam and Eve banished from Paradise display "grief, terror and shame." Dorff's short piece was thus written, as it were, to cheer Eve up.

 Wind Ensemble's First CD - Almanac, Vol. 46, No. 27, 4/4/2000
Under the direction of Ricardo Averbach, the Wind Ensemble celebrated its first recording with a varied concert program, including the Don Giovanni Overture and "The Abduction" from the Seraglio by Mozart, "Spring" from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, "Mars" and "Jupiter" from The Planets by Holst, Festive Overture by Shostakovich (arranged by Hunsberger).
The ensemble also performed Allegro Volante for xylophone and band, composed by Penn alumnus Daniel Dorff, Composer-in-Residence for the Haddonfielde Symphony.
Dorff's Three Fun Fables will be premiered by the Philadelphia Orchestra in April of this year under the direction of Wolfgang Sawallisch.
