Howard was an Episcopalian, and a Brother of a Baltimore lodge of Freemasonry.
His son, George Howard was born in Jennings House during his term as Governor; George eventually returned there as Governor himself forty years after his father's term, and four years after his death.
John Eager Howard is buried at the Old Saint Paul's Cemetery, in Baltimore, where in 1904, an equestrian statue of him by the eminent French sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet was erected.

Amy Howard Los is survived by son John Thornet and his wife Jasmine of York, PA, and his children Kevin, Deana, and Raymond; daughters Katherine Leocadia of Seattle, WA, and Camilla Mary of Downingtown, PA; son Jeffrey Howard and his wife Margee of Lake Oswego, OR, and their sons Nathan, Evan and Benjamin.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Howard; sons, Robert Lee Howard, Rev. Laddie Howard and Albert Howard, Sumter, and Leroy Howard of Fayetteville, N.C.; sister, Lucille Benjamin of St. Charles; 10 grand-children; six great-grandchildren.

 Daniel Baker College
Daniel Baker, Presbyterian minister, who helped organize the first presbytery in Texas in 1840 and Austin College in 1849.  Born on August 17, 1791 at Midway, Liberty County, Georgia, he was the second president of Austin College (1853- 1857.)  He died in Austin, Texas on December 10, 1857. 
The response was the establishment of Daniel Baker College in 1888, detailed in an earlier column.
There are schools which have large endowments and give material equipment which Daniel Baker does not have, yet lack the traditions, associations, and inspirations, founded in faith, nursed in poverty, nourished in prayer, and dedicated to the glory of God that Daniel Baker has through the spirit of its founder.

In most people's minds, E. Howard Hunt is associated with the Watergate scandals, but his career in the shadows extends much further back than the Nixon era.
When Daniel Ellsberg was believed to have given the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times, Hunt proposed that "overt, covert, and derogatory information" about Ellsberg could "destroy his public image and credibility." Along with Liddy, Hunt then plotted the burglary of Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office.
A 1975 FBI analysis of the photos concluded that "neither E. Howard Hunt nor Frank Sturgis appear as any of the three derelicts arrested in Dallas, Texas, as shown in the photographs submitted".

Robert E. Howard, writer, the only child of Dr. Isaac Mordecai and Hester Jane (Ervin) Howard, was born on January 22, 1906, in Peaster, Texas, and educated in Central Texas schools, including the school at Cross Plains, where he lived most of his life.
When his mother slipped into a coma on June 11, 1936, and the nurse told Howard that she would never regain consciousness, he went out to his car and committed suicide by shooting himself through the head.
Although none of Howard's works was published in book form during his lifetime, novels serialized in pulp magazines, in addition to collections of short stories and poetry, have since been published as books.
