Daniel had given the colonel one of his especially reserved for Jack withering looks, but had left Caitlin where she was, fetching a blanket for her instead.
Daniel gently touched her arm and said, with his eyes, that it would be okay, encouraging her to move out of the way.

Travis: I come from a stage background; I've been acting on stage for a while, and it's a very different set of circumstances, and to see my first film with a Sundance audience, with those crowds, it's a hell of a way to start the roller coaster ride we're on right now.

Travis: "We were actually in the water for longer than they were running the cameras because it was so hard to get in and out of the water with all of the equipment on that we would very often just stay in the water."

A harrassed yuppie couple, Susan (Blanchard Ryan) and Daniel (Daniel Travis) are off on their annual holiday.
At first Daniel and Susan wave their arms above their heads as they have been told when they realise the boat has left them behind, but it is clear this is having no benefit when nothing comes of it.
Daniel has obviously been reading the right magazines and watching the right television documentaries, because he knows not to drink sea water if you get thirsty, and that flailing around in the water will attract unwelcome attention.

Open Water [2004] Shaking Through.net: Movies: Review
Kentis is doggedly literal in his approach: Susan (Blanchard Ryan) and Daniel (Daniel Travis) take an island vacation in an attempt to put their incredibly busy and stressed out lives on pause.
The distance between the couple is established early on (while Daniel waits to leave for the trip in the car he calls Susan, who's in the house, on his cell phone -- an obvious but effective example of their emotional disconnect), and a subsequent failed attempt at lovemaking only reinforces their great divide.
Ryan and Travis are serviceable actors, but their characters are badly underdeveloped and their dialogue contrived and flat.

Miles from shore in shark-infested waters, Daniel and Susan struggle to stay calm as the daylight fades, along with their hopes of imminent rescue.

Daniel Linden: The main reason for having a limit is to deal with the limitations of the current Event Calendar -- it lack even rudimentary sorting, so an over-full calendar is all but unsuable, and everyone's events are lost in the noise.

Blanchard Ryan and Daniel Travis play thirty-something couples that are both up to their necks in successful careers.
The main two actors, the pretty Blanchard Ryan and Daniel Travis are perfectly cast as a young couple too busy to actually look at each other, feel each other, consider each other, until it is in the midst of unthinkable peril.
