I had "Danny Dunn and the Smallifying Machine," which came out in '71.
The Danny Dunn books were late boomer versions of some similar series (I'm blanking on the name) that came out a few decades earlier.
I loved the ending of the "Homework Machine." When someone ratted that Danny was using a machine to do his homework, he was in deep trouble until the teacher acknowledged that he had learned more about math building the machine than he would have working the problems on paper.
