  Tinet's Jet Li film reviews
Since he was a little boy, Danny (Jet Li) has been trained by the Glasgow gangster boss Bart (Bob Hoskins) to become a psychologically mutilated killing machine, a tool for his master for collecting 'protection money', killing everything in his way if his collar is taken off.
Gradually, as Danny gets exposed to nice things like music, cooking and love, he learns to become more balanced and conscious, and also starts wondering about where he really comes from, and what his blurry memories of his mother were all about.
Danny is a very sweet person deep within, who might rather appeal to your motherly instincts if you're in that kind of mood.

Unleashed (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Danny (Jet Li) is a Chinese orphan-turned-slave, with the mind and personality of a little child.
Raised as a dog by a British loanshark, Bart (Bob Hoskins), Danny is trained to be an unstoppable, and uncaring, killing machine.
Forced to wear a dog collar around his neck, Danny serves as the bodyguard and violent enforcer of his "master." He eventually is forced into the seedy world of pit fights where the only rule of combat is Kill or be Killed.

 Danny the Dog (aka Unleashed)
In Danny the Dog (or as most of you readers in the US will probably know it by, Unleashed), Jet plays the titular role, an orphan who was taken in by his "uncle" Bart (played by a scenery-chewing Bob Hoskins) and raised to be a human form of an attack dog.
When people refuse to pay, Bart takes off Danny's collar and he goes to town, which is displayed fabulously in the film's opening scene, an absolutely brutal and hard-hitting brawl that puts the finale of many movies to shame.
Danny survives the carnage and is then befriended by a blind piano tuner (Morgan Freeman) and his daughter (Kerry Condon), who teach Danny to become a normal person.

Massive Attack's Danny the Dog is a non-diagetic soundtrack to the film of the same name that follows the story of a street-fighter who has spent his life being cruelly treated as a dog.
Danny the Dog should not be treated as the latest album by Massive Attack for without the moving image it seems in-complete but it does contain some beautiful pieces of atmospheric music that should serve the film very well indeed.
The purpose of Danny the Dog is backround music for a movie, and they did an excellent job in providing a full backround sound that does not hog the spotlight from the plot of the movie, but increases its meaning.

Danny is kept in check by a metal collar, and as long as he is wearing it, he is docile and subservient.
Danny the Dog is different from your usual action fare in that, instead of being centred around a series of violent set-pieces, it is constructed around a solid central idea and an intriguing character.
Danny, after all, is essentially a mass murderer, and in that regard the lack of consequence for his actions is bizarre, as is the fact that Sam and Victoria seem all to quick to accept him even when they learn the true nature of his past.

Treated like a dog by his owner/boss Bart (Bob Hoskins), which includes having to wear a collar, Danny has been raised to be a lethal fighting machine who fights in illegal gladiator-style fight clubs, where he earns lots of money for Bart as the undisputed champion.
The film is very distinct in its style, the part with Danny and Bart has a very ‘gritty’ raw energy to it, even the performances are very 'British gangster' ala Guy Ritchie.
The film’s look is rather ‘gritty’ blue-green hues make up the colour palate for a lot of the film that involve the fighting and rough stuff storyline, on the other hand the dramatic parts of the film were presented with warn tones, a stark contrast to the rest of the film.
