Darin Morgan has once again did it with his latest episode and though not as strong or funny as his earlier efforts it was still a solid episode.
Darin Morgan created a character we could see ourselves in somewhat since we all have desires for something special to happen in our lives and when something does happen what person can't help, but try to embellish the tale a bit.
Darin Morgan has a way at looking at how the X-Files is perceived and twist every X-Files convention around from the bright lights and lost time to Mulder's obsession with believing even the most outrageous claims.

Review of "War of the Coprophages"
Darin Morgan has a lovely collection of beads, but no string to tie them together with.
Morgan's script caters so closely to fan discussions of Scully's dog, Mulder's love life, and the relationship between the two that the story, what there is of it, falls between the cracks of this domestication.
Morgan's special gift is his genius for comedy-by-denial: by setting us up to expect one thing ("So this thing is following me around because it's programmed to respond to movement?") and delivering the unexpected ("No. It likes you.").

Millennium: The Complete Second Season - Shiny Shelf
Morgan and Wong were still stinging from the cancellation of their tedious 'Starship Troopers'-without-the-irony SF series 'Space: Above and Beyond', and had rather resentfully written a few 'X-Files' and 'Millennium' episodes the previous year while on the rebound (that their final 'X-File' is entitled 'Never Again' demonstrates how tired they were with that particular series).
Morgan and Wong bring a diversity of storytelling to a series that was previously somewhat formulaic.
Both episodes are absurd, poignant, funny and oddly profound all at the same time, and further proof that Darin Morgan is one of the most unique and ingenious voices on television in the 1990s.

Review of "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'"
Darin Morgan's powers of observation are so acute that he can render back Mulder and Scully, not to mention the rest of the universe, with all the right details but in subtly and disturbingly *wrong* colors.
Darin Morgan doesn't write scripts, he creates origami stories that unfold into deeper and deeper complexity, until we are jarred out of our complacent Friday night couches into a world where Greys smoke and Mighty Morphin Power Ranger villains drop from the sky to interrupt an "alien abduction".
Morgan knows us too well, and skewers our foibles too sharply, to make us entirely comfortable, but if he can retain that edge which rides on his acute observation of his fellow humans, he will be a comedy writer for the ages.

Morgan and Wong followed up with "19:19" and "The Hand of St. Sebastian," two solid episodes that, respectively, showcased a doomsday fanatic who just might be right and provided further insight into the character of Peter Watts as he searched for a lost relic.
All of the most essential episodes were written by either Glen Morgan and James Wong, Erin Maher and Kay Reindl, or Chip Johannessen, with the five of them contributing no less than 18 of the season's 23 installments, while Darin Morgan provided two comic interludes and three others wrote one stand-alone each.

Slant Magazine - DVD Review: Millennium: The Complete Second Season
In spite of Carter's absence from season two's writing roster, his viewpoint and vision are always apparent, and it clashes with Morgan and Wong's reinvention of the Millennium Group from a criminal consulting firm to an ancient, protective sect who guide the world through the turbulent times leading up to the year 2000.
Morgan and Wong's mystical mumbo-jumbo (engrossing and engaging in the moment) is at odds with Carter's present-tense form of storytelling—his narrative metier is a more sober and earthbound exploration of the working classes and the repetitious, but essential, grunt labor that defines their existence.
Morgan and Wong's numinous plottings only strengthen Frank's resolve—he's the Carter agnostic in perpetual conflict with a fatalistically preordained narrative arc where every story element, every character, has its perfect endpoint.

Carter, Morgan, and Wong merge feverish end-of-the-millennium fears, all carved out of increasingly darker, deeper folds of faith and religion, with massive governmental conspiracies that all direct the second season towards a final set of episodes that become some of the most fundamentally bleak and grim to have ever appeared on regular series television.
Though there is a continual building toward the show's dominant End of the World theme, the number of memorable standalone eps is just as strong during the second season, and some of the better ones actually have a surprising amount of humor to them.
The creepy funny continues in Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me (another Darin Morgan script), in which a quartet of old demons (including Bill Macy) recall their past exploits of tempting the darkside of man over coffee and donuts, with all of them realizing that they've encountered the immutable presence of Frank Black at some point.
