		The series was cancelled after it's second season, during which the series had trouble sustaining the standard of excellence established in its first year (in her commentary, Alba forthrightly states that she feels the first season of the series is the real Dark Angel).
		The fascinating premise of the series, so carefully planned and worked out over the course of season one, is shunted aside (along with most of the supporting cast) from the very first episode, virtually destroying the compelling personal undertone that had given the series much of its punch.
		From that point on the series seriously falters, with the focus shifting from the very human problem of the Manticore escapees of the first season trying to adjust to the realities of the real world and the lies one which they were brought up, and onto the escaped mutants: from action-drama to geek show.
