Dark Chanting Goshawk is a large long-tailed broad-winged hawk, with a 105cm wingspan.

This is a mainly solitary bird which is found in moister habitats than the closely related Eastern Pale Chanting Goshawk.
It is a large, grey hawk with an upright stance which preys on lizards, snakes and small mammals.
The cere is coral pink as are the long bare tarsi and the under tail coverts are barred (these are the most obvious distinguishing features from the Eastern Pale Chanting Goshawk which has a yellow cere and plain white under tail coverts).

Dark chanting goshawks are not found in Kgalagadi, but there are plenty pale ones.
Agree with you CybeR@anger i'm also sure it is not a juv Goshawk.

I ended up with an adventure where a mouse, seeking revenge on owls, broke a bunch of dark chanting goshawk eggs so that they'd attack all the burrowing owls, driving them into the mouse lands, where they'd be so hungry, they'd attack the mice.
The player has all that authority to say what happens if his die roll wins, but then the GM has the authority to say that this bad consquence might happen if he wins a die roll against one of your negative traits.
I used his Gullible negative trait to have the goshawk demand a yearly tribute of one mouse.
