		The dark slide was invented by Mark Gonzales in 1991.

	How to cut a dark slide to acheive a narrower format
		What I did discover is that when you remove part of the interior of a dark slide it will "flex" a lot when inserting and often hang on the light curtain, sometimes "scraping" it quite demonstrably.
		Careful measurement, a sharp blade and willingness to sacrifice a slide is all that's needed.
		Leave as much of the slide as possible at the slot end, only cut away what is necessary to expose the length of the frame.

	Light Leaks in Film Backs
		It was caused by a leak (tear?) in the felt light trap due to a damaged dark slide.
		The light trap was on the side where the dark slide goes in--the foam on it had rotted away.
		If your dark slide is ok, but the back/body fit is poor, you can still get good pictures if you wait to the last moment to pull the dark slide and then quickly re-insert it.

		One concern I have is that there's no way there won't be some light leakage onto the protected part (the one not being exposed) where the slide now ends, so it may be that the dark slide needs to mask a bit more than half.

	APUG - Dark slide bags
		I put individual film holders in the larger "sandwich" size and about 5 bagged holders in a 1 gallon freezer size.
		I carry the bagged slides in an insulated, zippered fabric "lunch bag".
		The plastic does not seem to develop a static charge and the lunch bag provides some protection from extreme, or not so, temperatures.
