 Never Knows Best
It's true in English, it's true in French, and it's true in Japanese, even when the prompt is as simple as "write an interesting sentence." Moreover, the interesting sentences I came up with were, I figured, much too long for a game of telephone.
I started thinking about interesting sentences I already knew, and came up with "basu-gasu-bakuhatsu" ("Bus, gas, explosion", translated somewhat ingeniously as "Bus-gas-blast" by ADV's team), the tongue twister that Chiyo-chan recites when proving that there are some things she can't do.
English speakers may know the game better as "Red Light, Green Light"--basically, one person is "it" and hides their eyes (we used a particular pillar), and calls out "Daruma-san ga koronda!" Everyone else tries to approach the "it" person, but on "da!", the person turns their head and anyone who moves is a prisoner.

I guess that he must have spoken those lines without any mistakes in another take, but sadly, no one in the editing room might understand Japanese language to find which one was an OK take.

Over on the western side of the tip there was a park for the Riverpoint residents built below the old lighthouse, with a pond that had irises in it in the spring.
One of my last memories of Japan was an early evening there, the last Friday class, standing on the path going up to the lighthouse watching the light fade and the globe lamps come on in the park and a gaggle of middle school girls in uniform playing Daruma-san ga koronda.
