However, the flow karyotype of the white-cheeked gibbon (Hylobates concolor) (Figure 1c), which is one of the lesser apes, is quite different from the human and orangutan due to at least 31 different reciprocal translocations that have occurred during evolution from their common ancestor some 10 million years ago.
Activity and duet behavior in captive gibbons (a species of lesser apes) is stimulated when they hear an audio tape of a pair of gibbons vocalizing their territorial duet.

Dave Gibbons: One of the strange things about being in mod is that it would have been really uncool to say “I am a mod.” Part of the whole ethos of it is that it was hidden.
GIBBONS: To have the characters be individual people has always been really important to me. There is a tendency in, let’s say, bad comic book art to use a generic male or female head then give them eyeglasses or a moustache.
GIBBONS: What it really was is that I have drawn a ton of other stuff for other people and I’ve written stuff for other artists to draw so the obvious next thing to do was to do something that I would both write and draw.

Dave Gibbons has lifted these early sixties teenage cults and dumped them into a near-future Britain, where teenagers are either Originals or Dirt - this era's equivalent of Mods and Rockers.
The style of the piece is no less interesting than you'd expect of an artist with Gibbons' reputation, presented in subtle fl and white, bringing out the grimy reality of Gibbons's urban landscapes and emphasising the fl and white 60's influenced clothing of the Originals.
He is particularly prone to being a bad boy, whether it's treading on his mates to get to girls, bullying anyone unable to make it into his close-knit group of friends, delusions of gangland grandeur, an unhealthy obsession with motorbikes, or both the consumption of and dealing in drugs.

The brainchild of writer Alan Moore ("Swamp Thing," "V for Vendetta," "From Hell") and artist Dave Gibbons ("Rogue Trooper," "Doctor Who," "Green Lantern"), "Watchmen" was originally published by DC Comics in twelve issues in 1986-87.
First, each chapter is followed by a "non-comic" section that develops more of the backstories, such as numerous excerpts from Hollis Mason's autobiography "Under the Hood" or Professor Mitlon Glass' "Dr. Manhattan: Super-Powers and the Superpowers," an interview with Adrian Veidt, or reports from the police files of Walter Joseph Kovacs.
Alan Moore spent five years creating this story, and the beauty of it is that he has described each panel in such intricate detail that Dave Gibbons' pen makes us forget we are looking at static pictures on paper.
