David Lovering was a drummer for the Pixies (Creeping evergreen shrub having narrow overlapping leaves and early white star-shaped flowers; of the pine barrens of New Jersey and the Carolinas) from 1986 through 1993.
After their breakup, Lovering did drumming stints in Cracker (A thin crisp wafer made or flour and water with or without leavening and shortening; unsweetened or semisweet) and The Martinis (additional info and facts about The Martinis).
He is currently drumming for the Pixies (Creeping evergreen shrub having narrow overlapping leaves and early white star-shaped flowers; of the pine barrens of New Jersey and the Carolinas) on their 2004 North American/European tour.

The Pixies announced their reunion and a series of tour dates in the US, Canada and Europe in April, 2004; reviews for UK gigs were very positive.
The band hailed from Boston, Massachusetts, where it was formed in 1986 by Joey Santiago and Frank Black (aka Black Francis) (born Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV).
Lovering has dropped back into obscurity, making occasional appearances as a "scientific phenomenalist", performing experiments on stage; he also drummed on one of Tanya Donnelly's solo albums.
