Dave McClain puts it best: "We feel that if Through The Ashes Of Empires was our first album, it would do the same things that Burn My Eyes did, in terms of establishing Machine Head as one of the best metal bands out there." For this band, a new empire is rising.

Machine Head   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
Machine Head was formed in 1992 by former teenage delinquent Flynn in Oakland, U.S.A. They were one of the early 90's heavy bands to phase out thrash metal but distinguished themselves from other bands of their type with catchier riffs.
After several guitarist and drummer changes, Dave Ahrue and McClain filled those slots and it looked like a permanent line-up as both were accepted by the fans, until internal conflicts within the band forced Ahrue to quit, to be temporarily replaced by Phil Demmel.
Their 1999 album, Burning Red, was the bands reaction to the rise of nu-metal and was rejected by fans as being a sell-out album.
