	Dave Sheridan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Dave Sheridan was the underground cartoonist who is best-known for his characters Dealer McDope and The Leather Nun and his collaboration on the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.
		Dave Sheridan eventually settled in San Anselmo, California; he was a member of the Artista artists collective, worked closely with Don Novello, and drew the album cover for his Father Guido Sarducci comedy album.
		In 1981, a few months after his marriage to Dava Stone, Dave fell ill. Early in 1982 he was diagnosed with cancer, and he died of a brain hemorrhage in March of 1982—just a week before the birth of his daughter Dorothy.

		The proximate "whys" not nearly so compelling as the ultimate "whys"--when Frank McKlusky, C.I. works, it works because of a nice pop-cultural savvy and the strength of its supporting cast (obviously having fun); when it fails, which is often, it fails because it's so busy being derivative and puerile that it becomes an endurance test.
		The problem with a film like this is that it doesn't understand that it has something to offer beyond the rote Carrey knock-off, intriguing with the energy at the corners of the screen and wasting Sheridan in a role where even his haircut is essentially Jim Carrey's.

	JoBlo's movie review of Frank McKlusky C.I.: Dave Sheridan, Kevin Farley, Dolly Parton
		And while I can't blame it all on Sheridan alone, since every other detail of the film sucked as well, this is definitely a huge misstep for the up-and-comer and I only hope that not enough people see the movie and/or remember his other, smaller, funnier roles instead.
		The film also sticks as many 80s TV references as it can into the mix (not one of which is inspired or funny), inserts Sheridan in one unfunny get-up after the other, and overplays its gay jokes like they were going out of style.
		Now despite all that, I will, once again, re-iterate how I believe all comedies are extremely subjective in nature and how one person's stupidity can be interpreted as hilarity to another.
