However, a study by Davey, Forster and Mayhew (1993) suggested that intrafamilial spider fear may not be determined by the direct transmission of spider fear from parents to offspring.
Disgust is a food-rejection response consisting of a distinctive physiological manifestation (nausea), a distancing of the self from the disgusting object (avoidance), and a sensitivity to contamination from, or oral incorporation of, the offensive object (Rozin and Fallon, 1987).
Davey (1992b) outlined at least three ways in which fear-relevant animals associated with the disgust reaction might have acquired their disgust-evoking status: (1) by being directly associated with the spread of disease (e.g.

Recording review: Davy Graham / Davey Graham
Davy Graham is constantly mentioned as mentor or influence by a myriad group of players; Martin Carthy, Bert Jansch and John Renbourn all sing his praises still.
Graham was one of the most influential and (with the possible exception of Sandy Bull) most enigmatic of these musicians.
Graham made a number of albums for Decca in the mid-60s.

Guardian Unlimited Arts | | The original guitar god   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Davy Graham is the original guitar hero, a man who revolutionised the way the instrument is played back in the early 1960s and paved the way for a generation of guitar gods: Jimmy Page, Bert Jansch and Eric Clapton among them.
Graham hands me a book on Oriental rugs and a collection by the Greek poet Dionysios Solomos, which represent, in a way I cannot pretend to understand, his philosophy of the guitar.
Graham played majestically in front of an audience of about eight people, segueing the traditional Irish tune She Moved Through the Fair into his own Blue Raga with such mastery and depth that it is hard to believe the music is coming from a single acoustic guitar.

An appreciation of Shirley Collins & Davey Graham
It was over 30 years ago today, that Davey and Shirley taught the band to play and were brought together at the suggestion of Shirley's then husband, Austin John Marshall (author of "Dancing At Whitsun").
Davey was well known in the London blues scene having worked with Alexis Korner and John Mayall (playing with Mayall in the Bluesbreakers before Clapton joined) and having released the classic Folk, Blues, And Beyond album.
Throughout this album, Davey seems to bring out a side of Shirley's singing not heard on her other albums - looser and freer somehow, this is the closest that Shirley ever got to a jazz or even a blues feeling.

Davey Graham, MP3 Music Download at eMusic
One of the most eclectic guitarists of the 1960s, Graham's mixture of folk, blues, jazz, Middle Eastern sounds, and Indian ragas was an important catalyst of the British folk scene.
While he wasn't much of a singer, Graham's taste in material was broad and shrewd, encompassing blues, ragas, Joni Mitchell, Charles Mingus, and the famous instrumental "Anji," which Graham recorded in 1962, way before the more famous versions by Bert Jansch and Simon & Garfunkel.
Graham recorded only sporadically after the 1960s, although he performed with the renowned acoustic guitar wizards Stefan Grossman and Duck Baker.

What Graham did in the 60s was bring an unsurpassed eclecticism to the craft of guitar virtuosity.
Like [John] Fahey and [Sandy] Bull, Graham was one of the first Western guitarists of any sort to incorporate middle eastern modes and Indian ragas into his music.
Unlike Fahey and Bull, however, Graham is mostly unknown in the U.S., even on a cult level, as most of his records were never released stateside....Paul Simon, who met Graham in the mid-60s during a residency in England, even asked Davey to join him as an accompanist at one point.
