		David, afterwards Colonel David Barclay of Urie, was born in 1610.
		This Sir David Barclay, lord of Brechin, is also frequently mentioned in the wars of King David Bruce, to whom he faithfully adhered even when his cause was the most depressed, and in 1341, by that monarch’s command, he seized Sir William Bullock, chamberlain of Scotland, suspected of treason, and committed him to prison.
