		David Bellhouse (1764 - 1840) was an English builder who did much to shape Victorian era Manchester, both physically and socially.
		Bellhouse was active in Manchester cultural life being a founder member of the Portico Library and the Manchester Royal Institution, now the Manchester Art Gallery.
		Bellhouse and his wife supported many social and charitable causes, especially for workers' education, and Bellhouse was one of the founders of the Manchester Mechanics' Institute.

	Manchester Town Hall - Iridis Encyclopedia (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
		It was replaced by the first Town Hall, to accommodate the growing local government and its civic assembly rooms.
		The Town Hall, also located in King Street, was designed by Francis Goodwin and constructed during 1822 - 1825, much of it by David Bellhouse.
		The building was designed in the Grecian style and Goodwin was strongly influenced by his patron John Soane.

		Designed by the Manchester architectural firm Mangnall & Littlewood in 1876, the Air & Space Hall began life as the Lower Campfield Market Hall.
		It shares a family connection with the 1830 Warehouse, because parts of its cast-iron frame were made at E. Bellhouse's Eagle Foundry.
		Edward Taylor Bellhouse was the son of David Bellhouse Jr., whose firm built the 1830 Warehouse.
