David: Yeah, but I guess one of the nicest things that’s happened with this period of time is that, it’s a new day, a new dawn, with a new set of faces.
David: March of 2003 to March of 2004 was the actual writing; we wrote probably about thirty songs and went into the studio with about twelve or thirteen, something like that.
David: It’s funny because it was in rehearsal where that song was developed, we had talked about doing a cover song but we were so busy writing our own material.

David Ellefson has been laying down some of metal's most memorable bass lines for over 20 years.
Like other basses in the Zodiac Series, the David Ellefson signature model—named Scorpio after Ellefson's sign in the astrological zodiac—is built using a solid alder body with sculpted front and back contours and equipped with an articulating bridge with machined saddles.
Also a longtime Peavey bass amp endorser, David uses Peavey's new Tour Series and Pro Series heads and cabs to help him deliver the punch and power he demands for his music.

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is suing former bandmate David Ellefson for allegedly using the name of the heavy rock group without permission.
In the suit, filed in Los Angeles on Monday (25 July 05), Mustaine claims the bass player used his links to Megadeth in a magazine advertisement for musical equipment, despite agreeing a settlement earlier this year (05) which restricted his use of the band name.
Ellefson parted company with the group in 2002 after spending 17 years as the band's bassist.

Ellefson acknowledges that fans of his previous thrash efforts may not be into F5's mainstream sound, just as fans of F5 may not care to listen to some of his heavier offerings from the past.
Perhaps the strangest offering on the new F5 album is the cover of alternative-hippie crooner Edie Brickell and her tune "What I Am." Initially played by F5 as a joke, the song turned into a viable tune for the album once the band made it their own.
