David Bryan Hayter (born February 6, 1969 in Santa Monica, California) is an American voice actor, actor, and screenwriter.
A popular myth is that Hayter is the voice of EA Sports (saying "EA Sports: It's in the game!") when in fact it is Andrew Anthony.
An interview with David Hayter by Game Informer in 2001 showed that Hayter wished for the then-unconfirmed Metal Gear Solid movie to be animated or made in 3D.

In the late 1990s Hayter was a struggling actor and amateur filmmaker living in LA. He hadn't acted in two years.
Hayter thought he was joking and did nothing.
Eventually the producer on the project inquired about how much Hayter had written and they ended up signing him to a contract and in the end he received screenwriting credit on the film.

Hayter is obviously drunk in love with the original WATCHMEN, and he’s built something that even the most rabid barking fanboy purist is going to have to acknowledge with some degree of respect.
Right now, Hayter is set to make his directorial debut with the film, but I can’t imagine the studio trusting the budget required to a first time filmmaker, even if he has written a script as good as this.
With the right support and the full weight of the studio on his side, David Hayter is poised to make the GODFATHER of superhero films, that rare thing which transcends the genre it represents and becomes something unforgettable.

Hayter has somehow managed to condense Watchmen into a workable movie script without sacrificing the most important parts of the comic.
But Hayter manages to set up a world where nuclear war is fast becoming a reality, and when the lights go down and the film’s in the projector suspension of disbelief will do the rest.
Watchmen is too big a project for a first timer, but Hayter clearly had a vision for this movie and you have to give credit to his producers for leaving him alone and shielding him from studio interference.

Noone but David Hayter could possibly portray Snake any better anyway.He really should do the voice acting of both BB and Solid.I found his voice in MGS3 pretty good,tho.

The was a bit of a spat over the script writing of X-Men; as I remember one of the (uncredited) scriptwriters complained about Hayter getting sole scriptwriting credit when all he'd done was write down what the actors were saying.
In X-Men 2 he is credited for the story which could mean anything from "Hey, this'd be really cool!" in passing while lunching with Singer or by in-depth plotting of the entire storyline.

X-Men screenwriter David Hayter denied the rumor that he would direct the film version of the Alan Moore/David Gibbons miniseries Watchmen, though he did confirm that he will adapt the script.
Unfortunately, Watchmen doesn't even have a studio deal at the moment, though Hayter says that he is talking to the people who own the rights.
Hayter wrote the most recent draft of the Incredible Hulk movie for director Ang Lee and spent this past summer writing the script for X-Men 2, which will be directed again by Bryan Singer.
