  David Auldjo Jamieson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Auldjo Jamieson VC, CVO was the last recipient of the Victoria Cross in Norfolk, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
A statesmanlike figure widely respected for his many accomplishments in war and peace, David Auldjo Jamieson was born in Westminster, on 1 Oct 1920, elder son of Sir Archibald Jamieson KBE MC, chairman of Vickers Armstrong.
David Jamieson's Victoria Cross is displayed in the Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum in Norwich's Shirehall (Norwich, England)

From information in the Papers, we know that David Jamieson’s father was born on July 24, 1819 and that Dr. Jamieson himself was born in either 1853 or 1854.
Jamieson recorded that he was a "charter member" of the (International Order of Foresters) "Court-Kars No. 203" on September 9, 1886 when he was 32 years old.
The David Jamieson Papers consist of one Daybook for his practice in Osnabruck Centre, which begins on January 2, 1902 and runs through to August 12, 1910.

Captain David Jamieson won the Victoria Cross for the magnificant leadership and courage he displayed in the desperate battle for the bridgehead on the River Orne in Normandy, which had been gained in August 1944 by the men of The Royal Norfolk Regiment during the breakout after the D-Day landings.
Jamieson, then a captain, was in command of D Company of the 7th Battalion of the Royal Norfolk Regiment in the 59th Division during the crossing of the Orne south of Caen, which was initially successful enough for a bridge to be built and for some tanks to reinforce the bridgehead.
Jamieson displayed outstanding resource and steadfastness during the four hours' fighting which resulted in the Germans being repulsed by nightfall.
