David Javerbaum is an American comedy writer who is currently the Head Writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Javerbaum worked at The Late Show with David Letterman for about one year starting in 1998, then moved to The Daily Show in 1999 where he worked as a staff writer until being promoted to Head Writer in 2002.
Javerbaum is a graduate of Harvard University and of the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program at New York University's (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts.

Of the latter, Javerbaum said, Jon is “The real head writer”—the real deal, a man heavily involved in the show, in the issues discussed, and in sociopolitical values.
Javerbaum also praised Colbert as the “nicest, sweetest man you could possibly meet, since he’s got the darkest sense of humor, suburban house, kids, and is a devout catholic.” Overall, Javerbaum represented the cast members, behind the scenes producers, technicians, etc. of TDS as having strong bonds of loyalty to one another.
