David Koresh was different; Jones kept people a distance, Koresh was allways amongst/close to followers; he was more 'social' (perhaps therefore the public is not unsympathetic towards him; its hard to be sympathetic towards cool paranoids; as the FBI people have experienced).
Koresh sometimes was a engaging and energetic person and organizer, but on video tape he looked depleted of energy; depressedly mumbling about the good old days of the Old Testament ('….But todays people don't listen to phrophets anymore, they'll say you are just another religious cult').
Also typical is the suicidal self-destructiveness displayed by Koresh (setting the place afire.) The bugs the FBI placed all around the compound registered Koresh rapid mood swings and angry outbursts towards his fellow Davidians; when they didn't agree with his plans; suddenly they were 'all bad'.
