The economy, according to Littmann - 04/01/01
David Littmann, the chief economist for Comerica Bank, is considered one of the most accurate forecasters in the country.
Overall, Littmann says he has a year or two left in him, as he has worked alone for most of the past decade and the job continues to wear him down with an endless schedule of analyses.
Littmann, 59, trained at various universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Michigan, with hopes of becoming an economist.

Offices run short of tenants - 12/27/01
"When you're trying to finance a loan for a new office building, insurance is the single biggest factor right now that is making deals like Campus Martius more challenging to put together," said David Littmann, chief economist for Comerica Inc. in Detroit.
However, Littmann noted falling interest rates are proving a welcome factor in lowering loan costs.
But, he added, lackluster economic conditions have made firms cautious about signing long-term leases on new office suites or retail facilities.
