David Moorcroft has been involved in athletics for more than 30 years at club, area and international level as a competitor, teacher, coach, broadcaster and, since 1997, chief executive of the sport’s national governing body.
David has played a pivotal role in the creation of UK Athletics and was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 1998 for services to athletics.

It certainly requires someone with a very strong personality, who is able to foreceably implement his/her policies and gain the respect of the athletes, the public, and, of course, the Government.
I would like to wish David all the best, and remember, whatever people may think of him as an administrator, he was a world record holder at 5000 metres, and still the fastest Brit.
David Bedford who organises the London Marathon is capable of doing the job, and the only woman who I can think of is Zara Hyde Peters, who is UKA's Director of Athletic Development.
