It was a great reward for race winner David Besnard who has been in the shadow of Stone Brother's team mate Marcos Ambrose (who finished 5th today) all year and, is rumoured to be headed out of the Caltex Ford in 2003.
Richards started and brought the #2 HRT up from 23rd at the start and into the top 10 and at the end after Mezera's stint, climbed still further to a fine 4th place finish.
The #51 Commodore took over the lead after the final pit stops around lap 116 and, had a steady 8 second gap over David Besnard and Simon Wills in the Caltex Ford.
