David Roberts (born July 14, 1956) is the current mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey and is Hoboken's 36th mayor.
He was elected mayor on May 8, 2001 and replaced Anthony Russo.
Roberts' inaugural address was on July 1, 2001, and he announced a "master plan" for the city that was approved by the Hoboken Planning Board in 2004.

Roberts' plan, which he revealed again for the public Thursday night, calls for the creation of about 13 more acres of parks, which would bring the city's total to just shy of 60 acres.
According to Roberts' parks plan, the property could be home to a series of athletic fields that would include a multi-purpose field for baseball and soccer and a second Little League field at 15th and Jefferson streets.
Roberts added that goal of the master plan is to add 20 acres of new open space in the next 20 years, but Roberts hopes to quicken the pace.

According to Roberts, the following active recreational amenities are slated for the site: a baseball field with 90-foot baselines, and a 275- to 300-foot outfield; a Little League baseball field with a 60-foot baseline and a 190- to 220-foot outfield, and a high school regulations sized soccer field which will be 55-by-100 yards.
Roberts said that his plan is in full accordance with the city's master plan, which even calls for a "green belt" park along the city's western boundary, similar to Battery Park in New York City.
