SELTZER: Yes, they were really friends, and, when they talk about each other, when Jack talked about Chris or even when Chris talks about him, and some of the memories he has, you can see that they were pals, in addition to being a father and son, and Jack being a great father.

Perhaps it's because the career of director/writer David Seltzer went nowhere, or possibly it's because the film never clicked with a target audience that craved breasts and gore instead of touching stories about believable characters.
Seltzer clearly has a good feel (and memory?) for what it's like to be an outsider during the most turbulent years of one's life.
Lucas is a brave boy who has led a difficult life, but there's a heartbreaking scene when the tears finally come, and he lashes out in misplaced anger at the one person who's trying to understand and comfort him.

David Seltzer, creator and co-executive producer of NBC's upcoming supernatural limited series Revelations, told SCI FI Wire that his aborted involvement with ABC's short-lived 2003 show, Miracles, made him skeptical.
Seltzer (The Omen, Dragonfly) added: "It was just people doing the same thing every week, and I don't think [I'd like] turning over the same plot of dirt every week.
In creating Revelations, Seltzer said, he didn't begin with the investigation of miracles, but rather with the Massey character's suffering a tragedy: the gruesome murder of his young daughter at the hands of a Satanist (Michael Massee).

Director David Seltzer's 1988 film about the world of stand-up comedy, Punchline is a slice-of-life backstage pass with some Hollywood embellishment.
Seltzer employs a good bit of documentary style as he gives us a glimpse at the performers' heartbreakingly competitive world, featuring a slew of real-life luminaries (including Damon Wayans and John Goodman).
All the expectations of the audience fell, and perhaps that is why Seltzer stuck himself with an ending that played like something devised by a committee of filmland execs intent on political correctness above all else.

As a show that delves so directly and deeply into the Bible, Christianity, and faith (as well as current events, science and history), it was nearly unavoidable to probe into the beliefs and ideas of those responsible for making it.
It started with a call from Gavin PoloneĀ…he thought it was time — given the state of the world and what we're hearing and seeing around us — to deal with the subject in the book of Revelation; about the possible collapse of everything in the end of days.
Since this piece deals with such a direct reference to the Bible, I asked David Seltzer, as the creator and writer, about his background in regards to faith.

Even novelist Seltzer (who later wrote and directed the significantly different movie Lucas) is on the record saying he just wrote it for the money.
Compared to the similarly evil-child-themed The Exorcist (and there's no doubt The Omen was intended to capitalize on that film's box-office success), Seltzer's yarn completely lacks the penetrating suggestion of real evil as it may exist among us.
