  The Problems with Television
When a person watches television and notices that the speaker is not exactly pleasing to look at, that person will either change the channel or form a bias against what that person is saying — even if the speaker was to argue cogently for some issue.
Television, because of it’s bias away from logic and depth and toward style, dictates that its contents be entertaining.
Television creates a population who can easily be persuaded in support of issues which benefit a certain segment of the population more than any other.

Day was born Doris Mary Anne von Kapelhoff in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Evanston to German immigrants.
Day herself found many of her mid-late 1960s films to be of very poor quality (her least favorite was Caprice, co-starring Richard Harris) and did them only at the insistence of her third husband and sometime producer, Marty Melcher.
At conclusion of her book tour Day largely retired from show business, though film and TV offers continued to be made, she seemed content to focus on her charity work and business interests (In 1985 she became part-owner of the Cypress Inn in Carmel, California).
