Witnessing this is cop Tommy Cheung (Dayo Wong) and his girlfriend Laura (Yu Li) who thinks no more of this, until fate strikes that is. Tommy is shot and paralyzed during a gunfight with Lo Bill's (Vincent Wan) gang of robbers.
No, reincarnation is the order of the day and as soon as Dayo Wong largely disappears, Danny Lee, not phoning in his performance for once, begins to dominate the frame.
Dayo Wong remains pretty neutral though, not being particularly funny or striking as a leading man. Ada Choi is annoying, yet incredibly cute while Wu Chien-Lien takes on the wise old guy character with funny results.

Wong plays King, a self-styled karaoke champion whose lack of musical talent is equaled only by his passion for song.
Dayo Wong is really nasty and hateful, while Anita Mui is just so nervous and so laughable.

Later both Danny Lee and Dayo are badly injured during a heist committed by Vincent Wan — Lee is shot and goes into a coma that the doctors think he will never come out of — while Dayo is paralyzed after getting hit by a car.
Dayo goes to the comatose body of Danny Lee and tells him if he allows Dayo to walk in — he will avenge him — an upbeat in his monitor gives Dayo permission.

When they locate the cop who ran this old case, he (Dayo Wong) has completely lost his mind and is in an asylum.
Up till this point the film is fairly creepy and mysterious, but then regretfully Dayo and his over the top antics take control and nearly ruin the film.
If only Dayo had played his part a bit closer to the vest, this film would have worked so much better.

She envies King Wong (Dayo Wong) and his ability to sing effortlessly (albeit somewhat badly) in front of others.
There are a few moments here and there where the practise - and the practitioners - are sent up, but in general the movie focuses more on Chu and Wong and, increasingly, on their relationship.
I'd say it's for Dayo Wong fans too, but if this performance is anything to go by, he probably doesn't have that many outside Hong Kong.

At the stroke of midnight, Lee Yi-wah (Jacqueline Wu Chien-lien) jumps off the top of a building in front of several dozen witnesses, hits the concrete, then gets up and walks away with nothing more than a split lip.
After much convincing, Yi-wah (whose twenty something body now houses the spirit of a bitter old man and is revered as an almost holy figure because of his/her mystic abilities) agrees to tell Cheung how to undergo the process, which will allow his soul to enter into Wong's comatose shell.
Cheung commits suicide at 12AM and the transference is a success, with him taking over Chicken's now-healthy body.
