| | Canberra District Wines. Featuring the Wineries of the Canberra Region (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07) |
 | | Grapes were first planted in the area in the 1850s near Yass, but the District began in earnest in 1971 when the first two (Clonakilla and Lake George) commercial vineyards were planted. |
 | | A plethora of grape varieties are grown in the region with Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion, and Viognier the most common white varieties, and the reds represented primarily by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. |
 | | Our district's wines are not mass produced, or homogenised highly commercialised styles, but rather are crafted to show off the region's distinctive fruit characteristics, and winemakers' visions. |
