		De Baca County is a county located in the U.S. state of New Mexico.
		In the county the population was spread out with 24.10% under the age of 18, 5.70% from 18 to 24, 21.70% from 25 to 44, 23.20% from 45 to 64, and 25.40% who were 65 years of age or older.
		The median income for a household in the county was $25,441, and the median income for a family was $32,870.

		De Baca county is another eastern New Mexico flattie county but toward the west edge of the county there are some some small hills and mesas, so this highpoint would require just a bit of actual work, unlike the series of along-the-road highpoints I had been visiting today.
		The highpoint is located on a small, lonesome mesa about 3 miles south of highway US-60, and is known as Loma Alta. De Baca county has one claim to fame: it is the county in which Billy the Kid was shot dead by Sherrif Pat Garrett in the 1870s.
		It was late in the day and I had already done four county highpoints, although three of them were easy flat plains counties in which I had to do just a minimal amount of walking.
