  Carl Orff
While "modern" in some of his compositional techniques, Orff in the trilogy is able to capture the spirit of the medieval period with infectious rhythms and easy tonalities[?].
Some have called the style minimalist, which it may be in terms of melodic line, but it matches the emotional content of the original play with ease.
His last work, De Temporum Fine Comoedia[?] ("A Play of the End of Time") had its premiere in Salzburg in 1967.

Orff's Comoedia de Christi Resurrectione - An Easter Play and Ludus de Nato Infante Mirificus - A Christmas Play are both enlivened by Bavarian idioms.
Afterwards, Carl Orff felt that "the only possible continuation would be a work like Aeschylus' Prometheus." Premiered in 1968, some critics hailed the piece as a landmark event in the history of theater, while other critics found it difficult to comprehend.
Carl Orff ended his life's work with his most personal piece, De Temporum Fine Comoedia, the Comedy About the End of Time, which premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 1973.

Classical Notes - Classical Classics - Orff's Carmina Burana, By Peter Gutmann
Poetry of Catullus, Sappho and Euripides conjures newlyweds' wedding night, but while the text is a bit impish, the music is unremittingly parched, grim and formally ritualistic without a hint of the expected joy and tenderness of the occasion.
This display of technique shorn of substance led the way to Orff's final work, his relentlessly bleak and oppressive 1973 De temporum fine comoedia, about the end of the world, a grueling ordeal that seems a world apart from the joyous celebration of life in Carmina Burana.
Ormandy/Philadelphia (Sony, 1960) is similarly fleet but its fine, spirited singing is compromised by bland accompaniment with suppressed tympani – smooth but missing the essence of Orff's concept.

When the main body of The Process expelled de Grimston at a time of organizational crisis, it felt the need to kick the dust of the past from its sandals and start anew.
He told me this embellishment was to give the P-Sign "an ecclesiastical and mathematical flavor." The shift from therapy to religion demanded a shift in the style of their symbol, but not in its underlying concept.
For an example of the first source, Robert de Grimston told me he had experienced an emotionally repressed childhood and came to feel that liberation of desires was the general cure for human problems.

Fortunate as this may have been in some ways, the success of this one work has, rather cruelly, ensured that, for many music-lovers and record collectors, Orff’s works begin and end with Carmina Burana.
His final stage work — the vast majority of Orff’s pieces were conceived in theatrical terms — was a dramatisation and meditation on the end of time, De Temporum Fine Comoedia, given a Salzburg first production under Karajan in 1973.

The statement is possible since Pessoa, whose name means ‘person’ in Portuguese, had three alter egos who wrote in styles completely different from his own.

Álvaro de Campos and Ricardo Reis also signed dozens of pages of prose.

The Atlanta Symphony Chorus is simply without equal in its ability to generate and project beautiful tone at any volume level, and, of course, in the opening and closing O Fortuna choruses, the volume called for is considerable.
The result evokes imagery closer to a couple sipping wine in an expensive Italian restaurant rather than a bunch of drunken men in a tavern, one yelling about how he is the abbott of Cuckoominster.
Tenor William Brown on the other hand, given the task of illustrating the pain felt by a duck as he is being roasted in an aria with an absurdly high tessitura (Olim lacus colueram), switches to falsetto on the highest pitches and seems to abandon his sense of intonation.
