Dead End Kids - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dead End Kids were five young actors and one ex-plumber's assistant, from New York who appeared in Sidney Kingsley's play Dead End in 1935 on Broadway.
Following the success of Dead End, the kids (who were by nature rambunctious) ended up at Warner Bros. where they made several more films, most of which are considered to be the best they made as a group, especially Angels With Dirty Faces (1938), and They Made Me A Criminal (1939).
The group added the term dead end kid to the language as it came to refer to any group of troublesome, boisterous youths, and became forever typecast in their roles, which may have led to the numerous problems and run-ins they subsequently had over the years with the authorities.

Audience members in the front rows must imagine, as the Dead End Kids cannonball into the water-filled orchestra pit standing in for the East River, that they've wandered into the dolphin show at the New England Aquarium -- as perhaps choreographed by Clifford Odets.
Most people know Dead End from the 1937 film, which starred Humphrey Bogart as notorious gangster "Baby-face" Martin, who, lurking behind a plastic-surgical disguise, returns to the slum of his youth to visit his old ma and first girl.
The plot of Dead End is loosely woven yet explosive, a tapestry of juxtapositions and confrontations that pieces together the hoky and the devastating.

Public debut of the toy: Dead End, the first Decepticon from the line, first showed up in March 2004 in the form of a prototype at 2005 Boards, although the toy was originally believed to be a new version of Sunstreaker, due to his head sculpt and the molded Autobot logo (see here).
Additionally, a rumor that popped up shortly after Dead End was officially announced still listed him under the name "Blackstreaker", which led to the asumption that this was apparently the originally intended name, under which he was probably still planned to be an Autobot (possibly even as Sunstreaker with a new name and color scheme).

The technical definition of a dead end page is "a page that is linked to by another page in your site, but which has no hyperlinks to other pages in the site." Since it's a page without navigation, visitors can only leave it by using their back button or clicking away from your site entirely.
Dead end and orphan pages are often the result of a quick design process or major site overhaul.

'Kill Bill Vol. 2' is technically brilliant -- but it looks like a dead end for director Tarantino
From here, the script jumps back to where the "Bill 1" ended, four years later with the heroine (whose name, we now learn, is Beatrix Kiddo) on the vengeance trail and homing on on the Bill cohort (Michael Madsen) who has possession of her priceless samurai sword.
But he gets the drop on her, puts her in a coffin and buries her alive (with a flashlight) -- and we have a long claustrophobic sequence in which she squirms around in her grave and the movie flashes back on her training with a Chinese kung fu master (Gordon Liu).
A critic can certainly make a strong case that the now-completed "Kill Bill" cycle is totally negative exercise: a senseless assembly of pop culture references, pretentious cinematic graffiti and irresponsible mayhem aimed at instantgratification of the adolescent mind.
