  Don Markstein's Toonopedia: Deadman
As Deadman, he wore white makeup and red circus tights — which, since circus tights had been part of the superhero style ever since Superman was introduced wearing an outfit based on them, fit right in with prevailing trends in comic books.
Since Deadman had a specific goal, the accomplishment of which was expected to end his series, it became somewhat wearing on readers to see him go on issue after issue without coming noticeably closer to achieving it.
Deadman continued to search for his killer in guest appearances with Batman, Aquaman, Challengers of the Unknown and other DC stars — usually, at least in the early years of his post-series existence, drawn by Adams.

However, in the first string of Deadman stories, equivalent to a run of less than two years (had it appeared in a single ongoing monthly rather than in multiple books), Deadman and his mission did enjoy a few compelling moments and a few interesting twists.
Detach Deadman from his original mission of vengeance - as DC should have done in the early seventies, since they planned to continue to use the character past the resolution of that particular story arc - and you have a character who can work.
Deadman, in short, did not seem to fit into the context into which DC ownership forced him.

The religion of Deadman (Boston Brand)
After Boston Brand was murdered, he became Deadman when the Hindu goddess Rama Kushna spirit granted Brand's spirit (or ghost) the power to tarry on Earth and possess any living being power.
But the degree to which Deadman should be considered a "Hindu" in terms of religious belief and practice may be debatable.
Deadman may, indeed, have some belief in Hinduism, given this religion's manifest power in his own life (or "afterlife," to be precise).

But for Vancouver's Theory of a Deadman, going back into the rehearsal studio was an opportunity to experiment and grow into the group they always dreamt of being.
Theory of a Deadman made a name for themselves playing live in the Vancouver scene, then one night Connelly ran into Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger at a party and handed the rocker a copy of his demo.
The band released its debut Theory of a Deadman in 2002, and was soon embraced as a new force in articulate, emotional hard rock.

DEADMAN'S HANDLE   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
It’s easy to see that a real Deadman’s Handle is a simple device that offers insurance against a disaster, but while the description works for the software, it is rather subtler in operation than a set of brakes on a train.
This code could be anything between one and sixteen digits long, or it could be a password, but it is far from obvious that you have to enter any code at all, which is the point of this software.
When DeadMan’s Handle has finished running there is the unfortunate point that your laptop is in the hands of a thief, so you may be tempted to select the Windows folder as the one that gets crunched if the software gets called into action.

 HYBRIDMAGAZINE.COM | REVIEWS | Deadman - Paramour
The name Deadman might conjure images of a death metal band, a goth band or a rap/rock hybrid.
While Deadman does indeed incorporate elements of such imagery in their playing, you have to listen with an attentive ear, because they’re subtly tucked into otherwise completely modern sounding tunes.
Before you write Deadman off as another triple-A radio friendly cookie cutter band, there are definitely songs that offer up a unique style, such as "Rosa Marie" which seems like the most unaffected song you’ll get from Paramour, while still maintaining the intense, yet overly restrained feel of the rest of the album.

 Splendid Magazine reviews Deadman: Paramour
Deadman's fairly traditional cover of Paul Simon's "America" is touching, and Sherilyn Collins' vocal harmony adds sentiment to an already emotional track.
Their roots are more strongly heard, however, in "Padre Miguel", "Rosa Marie", and "La Zapatista", three of the best tracks in a list without throwaways.
Deadman has the versatility to cover a cafe or fill a stadium and sound appropriate in both -- a rare quality that can be attributed to the band members' very profesional, pure musicianship.

 Deadman's Statute
The goal of the plenary revisions of the Code with respect to deadman's issues in 1919 was to remove "practically all disqualifications," and permit the courts to hear "all evidence bearing on the question at issue" just as is usual "in the business affairs of life." Id. at 88, 115 S.E. at 715.
By the 1950s deadman's statutes were declared "archaic relic[s) of the past."1 Today "deadman's acts" are found in only a handful of jurisdictions.
Corroboration for purposes of the deadman's statute requires testimony or other evidence that tends to support some issue or allegation advanced by the party able to testify which is essential to sustain a judgment in such party's favor.

Theory of a Deadman - Biography - AOL Music
Vancouver, Canada's Theory of a Deadman became the first act to sign with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's 604 Records imprint in 2001.
Tyler Connolly (vocals/guitar) reportedly slipped a copy of the band's demo to Kroeger at a post-concert party and the two were soon collaborating on songs together.
But a healthy touring workload and simple maturation ultimately helped Theory of a Deadman break out of that confining stylistic box for their more varied and distinctive sophomore effort, Gasoline, which was recorded with session drummer Robin Diaz.

Deadman is then stripped of this knowledge, until it really plays out, and Hal becomes a mass murderer/fallen hero.
When I first read the preview copy for this miniseries, this issue stood out, as out of all the tragic events that Deadman was going to visit, the destruction of Coast City was the one where no hero fought their final battle, though it did mark the beginning of the end for Hal Jordan.
One area where the art does falter a bit though is the glimpse that Neron gives Deadman of Hal's future, as the gravity of Hal's downfall isn't nearly a dramatic as it needed to be.
