  New Georgia Encyclopedia: David C. Barrow Jr. (1852-1929)
Barrow was educated at the University of Georgia, receiving both a B.S. and a degree in engineering in 1874.
When Barrow retired in 1925, the university had become a modern institution, with an established college of agriculture, much-strengthened versions of the 1906 schools, new schools of education, commerce, and journalism, and a structured graduate school.
Barrow's name survives in Barrow County, in an Athens elementary school and an Athens street, and at the University of Georgia in Barrow Hall and the David C. Barrow Chair of Mathematics.

Barrow was sentenced to seven years in prison, but a plea bargain will enroll him in an alcohol treatment program at the penitentiary from which he could be released in as few as four months.
Barrow was not given an opportunity to speak other that to tell the judge how the automobile crash occurred, and to answer several questions regarding whether he understood his Constitutional rights, and the meaning of his plea and sentence.
Barrow was sentenced to the maximum seven years in prison for the death of the teen.

Liard Dean Barrow was caught on television cowering under an umbrella in broad-daylight and exposing himself as jeopardizing the jobs of the stevedores.
Apparently, Barrow either failed to get out the word that the agreement was reached or he deliberately manipulated the situation so that the stevedores had to suffer unnecessary stress for three days believing they might have lost their jobs.
Barrow, who was on radio Friday morning, mouthing off and twisting facts as usual, had injected himself into the Port issue by becoming the legal adviser to the Union.

AUSTIN - The Court of Criminal Appeals ruled Wednesday that an illegal sentence was imposed on a Eddie Dean Barrow of Plainview, who is serving a 15-year prison term stemming from his conviction on a drug charge.
Barrow was convicted of selling less than a gram of cocaine within 1,000 feet of the playground at Givens Park in Plainview on Aug. 31, 1995.
As part of a plea bargain, Barrow was convicted of a state jail felony, which carries a two-year sentence.
