  Dean Village
Dean Village {from dene meaning 'deep valley') is a former village in the northwest of Edinburgh, Scotland.
There was also a mineral source at St. Bernard's Well, and one of the Court of Sessions judges commissioned a Pump room[?] to be constructed in the shape of a pillared temple with a statue of Hygeia, the Greek goddess of health in the centre.
Dean Cemetery stands on the site of Dean House, a mansion house which was part of Dean Estate whch had been bought by Sir William Nisbet in 1609 and demolished in 1845.

Daniel Dean, one with whose history we are familiar and who resided and died not more than a mile from this place, was born in the village of Tubermore in the Province of Ulster, Ireland, October 20, 1766.
Dean Perry lost a leg at the battle of Perrysville, Ky. Three of the others were slightly wounded, and James Moore died with disease at Wartrall, Tennessee and of the 36, ten are yet alive.
Silas Deane, Commissioner of the Court of France during the American Revolution, was a great-grandson of James Deane, of Stonington, Conn., who is thought to have been a nephew of John and Walter.
