		Death metal is a form of music which arose from the heavy metal movement as it went underground.
		The death metal genre had become calcified between diehards who insisted on a narrow definition of style, and "innovators" who wanted to make it into rock music, but both groups in their efforts to control external factors forgot internal factors, and the ideology and artistic spirit of death metal as lost.
		Death metal bands are occultist in that each of the founding bands and most to follow had an occult focus or research interest evident in their lyrics.

		Family death metal (!) from Finland (the band features a pair of identical twins as well as another set of three brothers), Total Devastation looks to put their name on the metal map with two albums released thus far, most recently 2005's excellent Reclusion.
		This is prime Scandinavian death metal, brutal and heavy yet not too caustic, with noticeable industrial touches.
		The industrial influence is sometimes faint (in other words, this is death metal with an industrial flavor, not a full-on death/industrial hybrid), but it's just enough to give the sound a slight futuristic/modern feel, as well as give the band an edge in the originality department.

		Since there's been no recording since 1999 and at least the Napalm Death guys have their own band to give their time to, it's not clear what, if any, long-term plans are in the works for this project.
