This is where the turnoff to Death Valley is. We discovered at the Visitor Information Center (to which I think we were the ONLY visitors in weeks) that Death Valley was STILL another 2 hours north, through desolate nothingness.
When we finally did make it to the actual Valley of Death, it was AWESOME.
The good news is, you can happily & comprehensively see Death Valley from the comfort of your air conditioned vehicle, with small exceptions.
