		Plague is a word often repeated on "Repetition" and it gives even more evidence of the band's vision of hopelessness as it will take a near wipeout of society before the destruction ends everything as we know it.

	Metal Storm - Goregrind or Deathgrind?
		Generally I would think Goregrind is more hardcore influenced, and Deathgrind is more death metal influence, but I'm open to ideas.
		Brutal Deathgrind is another genre...but as noone is interested I'll just say it's the same formula of Deathgrind but BDM oriented..stuff like Early Emeth and Abysmal Torment fits in this category.
		Like, if I remember correctly, the first song sounds pretty deathgrind to me with the super downtuned riffs, but then the second track comes in with hardcore influenced material.

		This style allows them to write longer songs and explore their abilities as musicians more than the goregrind style they utilize on "Reek..." The "Symphonies..." album is probably my favorite Carcass album (though it's extremely hard to choose because the first three were all extremely sick and legendary releases).
		I find that the deathgrind style of longer songs that Carcass utilize on "Symphonies..." comes across as more interesting than the style they utilize on "Reek..." Although "Reek..." is a classic and embodies true goregrind sickness, it doesn't have the catchy/eerie brutality that "Symphonies..." has.
		On "Symphonies..." Carcass was able to keep the raw brutality of "Reek..." and become more creative and artistic with it by focusing less on the quantity of songs and more on the quality of the songs that appear on the album.

		Original and grindy in the vein of Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, and Spawn of Possession.
		Their release "Runes of Blood" is a definite display of their complexity, with a clearly thrashing grind influence showing through, which meets the hammering melody of the guitar and the precise and rapid pace of the off-time drum signatures uniquely.
		The vocals are a guttural masterpeice, with exception to the occasional monotonous lyric pattern, and they compliment the overall brutality of this production.

		I am in no mood to critique this band on their melody, as I am an avid admirer of this type of Deathgrind, much like I am of most other Death Metal, Grindcore, and any mixture of the two that exists out there.
		This Vancouver band destroys the sound that this sub-genre has amounted to in the past few years, and by that I mean the relentless trying, but failing involved in forming a fast, technical grindcore band.

	The 2004 Reviews Section: One Step Beyond, Life Imitates Art
		Vocalist Justin Wood uses a truly guttural belch for the duration of the album, and his cavernal tunnel-digging works just as well on a "groovy" tune as it does in the blast parts.
		While this isn't much of a problem, it's just that death metal and grindcore are supposed to be, well, fast genres, and One Step Beyond doesn't focus enough on the deathgrind side of things as the band should.
		Also, the production is a little weird, being sort of treble-heavy while producing an excellent cymbal sound (especially given the fact that the cymbal sound came from a fucking drum machine.) I realise it's a self-production, but there needed to be a little bit more bass.

		Arsis is a two man project with James Malone handling guitar, bass and vocals and Michael Van Dyne on drums while James Malone wrote all music and lyrics and he wrote some of the most angry stuff I've heard for a while combining thrashing sounds with head shaking deathgrind.
