TSOL was really the only deathrock band I ever really cared about...unless you count Misfits, but most people don't.
The Misfits are considered Horror Punk, and TSOL are consider a dark flavour of Punk.

Billed as the first ever US Deathrock Festival, it brought out the best-dressed fiends I’d seen in years from all over the country and even from Europe and Canada.

Since I've been getting heavily into Deathrock for the past five years, and thought it was such a fun, cool, and care free scene to be involved with, that I felt more people should know about it.
I've had people request the most obscure Deathrock related stuff, and then be amazed when we actually have their request.
I think that it's a wonderful turn of events, and I really don't see "Deathrock" ever becoming assimilated by the media (unlike Goth and Punk) because Deathrock does not take itself seriously, and would be really hard to sell to the masses of angsty young kids out there.

 Wages Of Sin gothic/deathrock San Francisco rock
Kathleen was in SF with her band, Shadow Image, right before music was called deathrock.
The term "deathrock" was just starting to be used at this time and club owners were hesitant to book a band calling themselves deathrock.
It was difficult to find other bands to play with since punk rock was still popular.

 Death Rock: The Early US Scene
Deathrock was essentially an American phenomenon, so whilst I've got a fair bit of information on the UK scene and was there to witness it, I don't really know much about the US scene.
I'm currently researching it, and if anyone can help me out with information, please email me.
In the meantime, there is an interesting site at www.deathrock.com which provides a useful overview, and a recent deathrock article in Starvox magazine.
